Many residents came along to the recreation ground on the evening of the 6th of June to mark the 80th Anniversary of the D Day landings, organised by the Parish Council and East Dean Cricket Club.

With hot food, a licenced bar, a cricket match between sons and fathers, as well as music from the period and a live performance by bag pipers, the event was a great success.

The evening was rounded off by the lighting of the Beacon followed by a firework display.
