Entertainment Evening

Published: 13 February, 2024

A huge thank you to all that came along to this sparkling evening of chatter, dance and fun last Friday (9th Feb)

Over 80 of us enjoyed the great music provided by the very popular couple Barney and Paula who make up DUALITY. There was dancing from the get go and everyone seemed to enjoy the chance to banish those winter blues!

Together with the raffle we raised a significant sum to go towards community projects. If you would like a say in how the money is spent, please join us for our AGM on Monday 20th May – we want to hear your ideas.

Police information session – SCAMS

Published: 24 January, 2024

Our local Police Community Support Officer, Richie Davidson, will be coming down to our village hall on Thursday 29th February at 2.00 pm to speak to us about SCAMS. This hopefully will be particularly helpful in light of the recent increase in this type of fraud.

PCSO Davidson will also be bringing some useful leaflets and stickers to give out to residents.

If you would like to attend but need a lift to the hall and back please remember Community Watch volunteers are happy to provide transport for you.

Remembrance Sunday 12th November

Published: 12 November, 2023

Representatives from our village organisations gathered, together with many residents, at the War Memorial on the village green in order to commemorate Armistice Day. The event paid tribute to those in the village that gave their lives during the First World War and Second World War, as well as those buried in War Graves in the churchyards of East Dean and Friston. It was a time to reflect on the sacrifice and contributions of those in the armed services.

The Residents’ Association wreath was laid by Committee member David White. David’s son is currently serving in The Royal Air Force.

Cheque Presentation to the JPK Project in Old Town

Published: 30 October, 2023

At our recent summer fete the theme was Community. Our raffle was in aid of a local charity that supports young people with learning difficulties into training and independent living. Thanks to your very kind generosity Karen Wintle and Lesley Durso were able to present a cheque for the sum of £625 pounds to Jill Parker. Jill is the Chairman and Project Co-ordinator of the JPK Project and was delighted to receive the cheque on behalf of this worthy local charity.
