Biodiversity

A biodiversity profile of the parish has been prepared as part of our neighbourhood planning process. This document describes existing land designations and protections, the habitats and species found, species of particular conservation concern, threats to biodiversity, and also identifies localities within the parish that are of particular significance or importance for conservation. A map is included. The document – which is still a draft and will be updated – is available here <EDF Biodiversity profile>.

Species lists of plants and a number of animal groups found in or adjacent to the parish have also been compiled. These are based on a plant survey in 2023 and records held at the Sussex Biodiversity Records Centre, supplemented with records and sightings from residents.
